Minister of Youth and Sports Dimitar Iliev and the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dubravka Bosnjak signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of Youth and Sports, the Bulgarian Sports Ministry reported here on Saturday.

Under the agreement, the two countries will promote the exchange of information between public institutions and non-governmental organisations, the organisation of youth exchange programmes and the promotion of volunteering projects, joint projects with international organisations and participation in youth conferences, forums and seminars organised in both countries.

In the sports sector, the document foresees exchanges of experience between coaches, experts, specialists and researchers, the organisation of scientific seminars, conferences and studies with participation from both countries, cooperation in the fight against doping and the promotion and development of traditional sports and games.

"This agreement is very important for Bulgaria. I am glad that we will have the opportunity to deepen our relations and to take concrete actions on the implementation of the Memorandum," Minister Iliev said.

Minister Dubravka Bosnjak underlined the traditionally good relations between Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed confidence that this agreement will contribute to achieving the common goals of the two countries.

After the meeting at the Ministry, Bosnjak visited the Museum of Sport at the Vassil Levski National Stadium, where he saw the historical successes achieved by Bulgarian athletes over the years.
