site.btaSofia Bike Relay to Hold Second Edition Sept. 17

The second edition of the Sofia Bike Relay will be held in the Bulgarian capital on September 17. It is the country's largest corporate cycling relay.

The streets in central Sofia will be closed from 9:30 to 13:30 to clear the 4 km route for the race.

The start line is at the Vassil Levski National Stadium. At 10:05 a.m., a biketour will start along the relay route. Anyone can participate without an entry fee by pre-registering on the event page at https://sofiabikerelay.com/registration-free-tour/. There is no age limit for cyclists. Participants will ride one lap along the Sofia Bike Relay route. Once the bike ride is over, the team competition will start. 

Every team will have 4 posts and every post cycles 12km (3 laps) before passing the button to the next post.

The event is included in the Sofia sports calendar and is part of the European Mobility Week. 30% of the entry fees will be donated to support the "Social-Emotional Learning through Sport" project of the Teach for Bulgaria education organization. The project aims to integrate social-emotional skills into the sports activities for students in 1-12 grade.

The organizers of Sofia Bike Relay are the Runner sports club with the support of Sofia City Hall and Schwarz IT Bulgaria.
