site.btaTennis: Grigor Dimitrov Defeats Andy Murray at US Open, Advances to Round 3

Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov defeated British veteran and former world No.1 Andy Murray 3-0 (6-3 6-4 6-1) after 2:45 hours of play in an US Open match in New York on August 31 and advanced to the third round of the grand slam tournament.

It was the 12th match ever between Dimitrov and Murray, and the Bulgarian's fourth victory against eight wins for the Briton. Their previous encounter was back in 2016, when Murray won on hard court in Beijing.

In round three of the US Open, Dimitrov will play Alexander Zverev of Germany, who prevailed over his compatriot Daniel Altmaier 3-1 (7-6 /1/ 3-6 6-4 6-3) in round two. No. 12 seed Zverev has scored five wins in a total of six matches against Dimitrov. His latest success against the Bulgarian came rather easily in the recent Cincinnati Masters on a score of 2-0 (6-2 6-2).
