Vladimir Zografski won a second straight event of the FIS Ski Jumping Summer Grand Prix as he triumphed on the normal hill in Szczyrk, Poland on Saturday. Bulgaria's top ski jumper earned 257.3 points and prevailed over Aleksander Zniszczol (253.5) and Piotr Zyla (252.9), both representing the host country.

Zografski thus continued his remarkable performance in the current season. On July 30, he placed first in the Grand Prix large hill event in Courchevel, France after finishing second a day earlier.

The 30-year-old tops the 2023 Grand Prix ranking after the third round, on a score of 280 points.

His victory in Courchevel last Sunday was the first ever win for him in the FIS World Cup or Grand Prix and also the first victory for Bulgaria in ski jumping. According to a news story on the FIS website, Zografski's best result in his previous 137 World Cup starts (winter or summer) had been 6th place. Although the victory of the 2011 junior world champion was not a real surprise, it was a historic win, FIS says.
