The euro is not just one of the banknotes in people's wallet, but a symbol of trust and one of the most recognizable and secure currencies in the world, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov said during an information meeting in Ruse on Wednesday. The event was part of the National Information Campaign for the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria and was held jointly with the Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev.

Karadjov stated that Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone is not just a technical act but also a step towards economic maturity. "Bulgaria is starting to speak the language of the euro alongside its partners from the European Union. This is a language in which numbers now mean a completely different level of security and completely predictable prices. Businesses can now plan completely sustainably, and investors can have confidence in this currency," Karadjov emphasized. He said that the euro means predictability for businesses, while for families it brings peace of mind.

The Minister reported that the currency will be exchanged free of charge in 76 post offices in Ruse Region, especially in settlements and villages without banking institutions. "In four of these post offices, residents will be able to exchange amounts of up to BGN 10,000 per day, as the offices will be equipped, and all employees who will work on the exchange will be trained," the Minister said.
