site.btaMinister: Preparation for Currency Exchange to Euro at Bulgarian Posts is Going According to Plan

Preparations at Bulgarian Posts for the exchange of levs to euros are proceeding according to plan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Grozdan Karadzhov told journalists. He attended the opening of the academic year at the Higher School of Telecommunications and Posts on Saturday.
According to him, over 1,000 employees of the company have already undergone training, and the process will continue with an informational campaign. This will include the publication of brochures about possible scams during the exchange. At the same time, plans are being developed for joint work with the Ministry of Interior, whose officers will be present at post office branches throughout the working day to ensure citizens’ security.
A “Frequently Asked Questions” section has already been created on the company’s website. According to the deputy prime minister, it reflects topics raised by citizens during hundreds of meetings with local communities.
Karadzhov emphasized that the necessary equipment for counting coins and banknotes, as well as for verifying their authenticity, has been secured. “I believe that in the remaining few months, all scenarios will be further rehearsed,” he added.
Regarding the submitted vote of no confidence, Karadzhov said that it is unfounded. “If this vote had been made a year ago against their own administration, it would have been justified, because the delay of more than three years under the Recovery and Resilience Plan was a failure of the government. But today, not only have we overcome that delay, we now have over one billion euros more allocated in the latest interim review by the European Commission,” the Minister said.
He added that by the end of the year, Bulgaria expects additional funds from the Plan, and the business sector is already feeling the effects of its implementation.
