The European Spa Association (ESPA) for the 11th time honoured those who have developed new, innovative and more effective approaches to improving the quality of Medical/Spa and Spa hotels and resorts at an official ceremony in the Lithuanian health resort of Druskininkai, the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism said in a press release on Monday.
In 2024, Bulgaria was awarded in two categories, the big winner for Innovative Spa Concept being Bulgaria's Grifid Hotels. The award was received by CEO Tanya Tsvetanova, who expressed her gratitude for the high recognition from international professionals and experts in the field of health tourism and pledged Grifid Hotels to continue to establish its place as a leader in Medical/Spa tourism, offering its guests first-class services and recovery treatments.
The Special Jury Award for Innovative Spa Destination was personally presented by the President of ESPA, Thierry Dubois, and went to the Mayor of Hisarya, Iva Valcheva.
The ESPA Innovation Awards are a reflection of the association's goals to promote the exchange of experience, best practices and know-how, the press release said. They are the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in Europe's medical spa and spa industry and are awarded in 8 categories - Innovative Spa Destination, Innovative Medical Spa, Innovative Spa Hotel, Innovative Spa Concept, Innovative Health Spa Programme, Innovative Spa Product, Innovative Spa Training and Innovative Medical Spa Research.
