At the end of August 2023, Deposits of Households and NPISHs were BGN 75.485 billion (40.4% of GDP). They increased by 9.8% compared to the same month of 2022, said the Bulgarian National Bank on Monday.

Deposits of Non-financial corporations were BGN 42.147 billion (22.5% of GDP) at the end of August 2023. Compared to the same month of 2022 they increased by11.2%. Deposits of Financial corporations increased by 13.8% annually in August 2023 and at the end of the month they were BGN 4.179 billion (2.2% of DP).Deposits of the non-government sector were BGN 121.811 billion (65.2% of GDP), increasing annually by 10.4%.

At the end of August 2023, claims on loans to the non-government sector amounted to BGN 86.218 billion (46.1% of GDP) compared to BGN 85.581 billion (45.8% of GDP) at the end of July 2023. They increased annually by 10.8% in August 2023. Loans to Non-financial corporations increased by 6.1% annually (7.2% annual growth in July 2023) and at the end of the month amounted to BGN 42.545 billion (22.8% of GDP). Loans to Households and NPISHs were BGN 36.531 billion (19.5% of GDP) at the end of August 2023. They increased by 14.2% compared to the same month of 2022. At the end of August 2023 loans for house purchases were BGN 18.490

billion and increased by 18.7% annually. Consumer loans amounted to BGN 16.369 billion and compared to August 2022 they rose by 10.8%.
