The Mythological Transformations exhibition, part of the 15th edition of the Sofia Paper Art Fest, will open on September 25 at the Mission Gallery of the State Institute for Culture (SIC), under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the SIC team said on Wednesday.

The exhibition presented by SPAF and Amateras Foundation is the second event of the Bulgarian-Turkish cultural exchange that began in 2025. Following the successful artist residency in Pavlikeni in the summer, the project marks the next step in a long-term partnership between Bulgaria and Turkiye in the field of contemporary art, SIC pointed out.

The exhibition will feature works by artists from Izmir - Sukran Tumer, Neslihan Cakir, Benay Durmus, Fethiye Erbay, Mutlu Erbay, some of whom are lecturers at Ege University.

“The project conveys a message of cultural dialogue, mutual respect, and sharing of creative experience between the two countries,” the SCI team added, noting that the event is part of Sofia’s 2025 Cultural Calendar under the patronage of the Turkish Embassy in Bulgaria.

The exhibition will remain on display at the Mission Gallery until October 10, 2025 and is open to all visitors during the SIC working hours.
