In 26 portraits and 76 texts Vesselina Nikolaeva explores what women have to say after the age of 40. The exhibit is titled The Big Goodbye, The Big Welcome and will be on display from March 8-31 at the Toplocentrala Gallery - Cube, the event's hosts said on Friday.
Vesselina Nikolaeva was born in 1976 in Sofia. She works as a photographer and a teacher. Graduated from Utrecht Academy of the Arts in the Netherlands in 2001. Three years later she published her first photobook BABA, for which she received the Grand Prix of the 4th International Festival of Photography in Lodz, Poland, followed by the Descubrimientos Award for Best Young Photographer and the Canon Award - De Zilveren Camera in 2005. After that she published the books School Nr.7 (2007), Simply a Line (2009) and was nominated for Dutch Doc Award for Best Documentary Project in the Netherlands (2010). In 2014 he published I Am Goood I Am Great I Am Wonderful and the photo book Yesterday When I Was Little (2014), which was nominated for the Vienna Photo Book Festival Award.
