Heraclea Sintica is among the most attractive tourist sites presented at international tourist exhibitions in Vienna and Stuttgart, head of the restoration project Katya Stoyanova told BTA on Sunday.

"At the two prestigious exhibitions, we presented the entire cultural, historical, and natural heritage, all tourist sites, wineries, the ethno-village of Dolene and everything that can be seen on the territory of Petrich Municipality. Of course, Heraclea Sintica aroused the greatest interest, because people do not expect to see such a thing in Bulgaria", Stoyanova underscored. The Bulgarian stand at the exhibition in Vienna was also visited by Bulgarian Ambassador to Austria Desislava Naydenova-Gospodinova.

An innovative presentation of local landmarks through virtual reality glasses was met with particular attention by visitors of the exhibition, as they had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the ancient city and take a virtual walk around all the landmarks in Petrich Region.

"In addition to introducing the end user to what we offer in Petrich and the region, we also held many working meetings with tour operators who organize tours for Austrians in Bulgaria. We also talked to journalists who would write and offer tours in the region," Stoyanova noted, adding that Petrich Mayor Dimitar Brachkov also participated in talks to organize information days for the tourist attractions in Petrich.

The cultural, historical, and natural heritage of Petrich Region was also presented in Stuttgart, where the largest tourist exhibition for end customers in Europe was taking place. "At both exhibitions, our stand was particularly attractive, because the cultural heritage, which is Heraclea Sintica, is one of the faces of Bulgaria. This definitely shows that the level of cultural heritage and socialization that we have built is particularly impressive," Stoyanova stressed, adding that more active advertising of the site will begin soon, as well as several more participations in similar exhibitions, the first of which will be a tourist exchange in Budapest.
