Director Saki Muramoto Wins Best Short Film Award at World Festival of Animated Film in Varna

Japanese director Saki Muramoto's A Night in the Waiting Room won the award for Best Short Film at the 20th edition of the World Festival of Animated Film in Varna on Sunday. The films Beautiful Men by director Nicolas Keppens and In the Shadow of a Cypress by directors Hossein Molayemi and Shirin Sohani were also awarded with special diplomas.

In the category for feature movies, the jury awarded Sultana's Dream by director Isabel Herguera, while Impossible Maladies by Stefano Tambellini won the award in the Children’s Films category.

The highest recognition in the Bulgarian Films category went to The Artist's Daughter by Dimitar Dimitrov. The award for Best Student Film went to Bianca Scali's It's Just a Whole, while The Duck by Elie Chapius won the award in the Horror Film category.

The Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers gave their special award to the Bulgarian film Connected by Simeon Sokerov, while The Union of Bulgarian Artists awarded Garlic Soup by Kristian Zahariev with a special diploma.
