site.btaSofia to Host European Forum on Music

The 12th edition of the European Forum on Music (EFM) dedicated to equity in music will be hosted by Sofia's centre for contemporary arts Toplocentrala between June 5 and 7, the European Music Council said. The forum is organized in cooperation with the Bulgarian Music Association under the auspices of the Mayor of Sofia Vazil Terziev and with support from the Ministry of Culture.

The event will include a variety of sessions, speeches, panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking sessions. Around 200 delegates from across Europe are expected to participate.

The EFM aims to provide a platform for debate and exchange of best practice on topics such as equal market access and participation, tackling geographical discrimination, improving music education, navigating digital transformation and other challenges to creating an equitable and diverse music future.

Iranian-Canadian singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Golnar Shahyar will open the forum with a speech on equality in music.
