site.btaNational Polytechnic Museum to Kick Off European Night of Museums on Saturday

To mark the upcoming European Night of Museums on May 18, 2024, the National Polytechnic Museum in Sofia will organize two exhibitions: 310 Years of the Typewriter and Polyphony and Technology. A Dynamic Dialogue. The Museum will have free admission from 6 p.m. to 10.30 p.m.

The first event will showcase some 40 typewriters that include Smith Premier No. 10, Corona 3, Blickensderfer 8, Royal Bar-Lock 10, Eltec (Maritsa 30), Hebros 1300 F and Monarch Visible #2.

The second exhibition will have on display pieces by the Bulgarian painter Vili Nikolov, whose art has been praised by the likes of Juan Carlos I, former Spanish prime minister Jose Maria Aznar and Nobel laureate in Literature Mo Yan.

Science enthusiasts will be able to participate in experiments as part of demonstrations entitled Physics in Action. The events scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. will have a BGN 10 admission fee.
