More than 450 participants from 10 countries will take part in the March Music Days International Festival in Ruse in 2024. The 63rd edition of the festival will take place from March 15 to March 31, said the festival director Iva Chavdarova during a press conference at the National Press Club of BTA in Ruse on Monday.

March Music Days will offer a total of 24 events - five orchestral programs, 11 ensemble concerts, a ballet performance, seven accompanying events and many artists and ensembles debuting on the Bulgarian stage. Performers from Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Romania, Italy, South Korea, Croatia and Georgia will also perform on the festival stage.

Chavdarova explained one of the major events of the festival programme will be the ballet performance Calliope, presented by the State Opera Ruse on March 25. She also noted that on March 16 the Trio Abstrakt will present the world premiere of Bozhidar Spasov's Piece for Saxophone, Piano and Percussion.

Encho Enchev, Ruse Deputy Mayor for Humanitarian Activities, said that this year's budget for the festival is slightly over BGN 302,000, with half of the budget provided by sponsors and donors. He added that the festival was organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.

March Music Days is one of the oldest and most renowned music festivals in Bulgaria. Founded in 1961 and organised by the Municipality of Ruse, the music forum turns the city into a meeting place for elite artists. BTA is among the main media partners of the festival.
