Speakers from six countries are coming to Bulgaria for the sixth edition of Bulgaria's Melba Design Festival, held November 2-12, 2023. The ten-day festival includes lectures, exhibitions, workshops and discussions, say the organisers from Studio Komplekt.

"We are delighted that over the years the festival has been able to sustainably bring the importance of the discipline to the fore, highlight its potential and ignite international collaborations. For the upcoming edition of the festival, we are working hard to prepare valuable and engaging content, a comprehensive overview of the most interesting Bulgarian design over the past year and a series of exhibitions on pressing contemporary topics," say Adriana Andreeva and Boyana Gyaurova, founders of Komplekt.

The organizers note that traditionally the core of the festival is the Melba international symposium, which this year will take place on November 4 in Hall 1 of the Toplocentrala Regional Centre for Contemporary Arts in Sofia. The upcoming edition features speakers from six different countries. Among them are Jakub Spurny and Michael Dolejš from Studio Najbrt, a Czech graphic design and visual identity studio founded in 1994, Panos Sakas, founder and chief designer of The New Raw, a research and design studio based in Rotterdam and presented at the De Domijnen contemporary art museum, and Jorge Penades, an industrial designer and creative director from Spain.
