The Palace Cultural Center, the State Cultural Institute located in Balchik, hosted a celebration of the 85th anniversary of the restoration of Southern Dobrudzha to Bulgaria under a treaty Bulgaria and Romania signed in Craiova on September 7, 1940.

The Palace's acting Director, Galina Mitkova, stressed the collaboration of three institutions - the Cultural Center, the University Botanic Garden - Balchik, and the Historical Museum Balchik - in honouring national memory, unity and cultural heritage.

Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova said that 85 years ago, territories inhabited by Bulgarians were peacefully reintegrated into this country, correcting historical injustices. "Bulgarian diplomacy quietly but decisively corrected the injustices of the Berlin and Neuilly treaties, as well as those of the two Balkan Wars and World War I. Since then, Balchik has been part of Bulgaria both in terms of territory and culture," she said. Kiselova praised the cultural significance of Balchik and wished continued success to the staff of the institutions involved.

Historical Museum Director Radostina Encheva paid tribute to those who fought and sacrificed for freedom, as well as to educators and poets who preserved the Bulgarian language and culture.

The celebrations included a musical and poetic performance by children from the Zornitsa Theatre Studio and the Dobrich Wind Orchestra, highlighting poet Dora Gabe's contribution during Dobrudzha's liberation. Historical re-enactments featured students and cadets from the Naval Academy in Varna dressed in 1940s attire. The museum presented an educational guide titled "The Liberation" commemorating the anniversary.

Guests included Varna Regional Governor Andriyana Andreeva, MPs Erten Anisova and Svilen Trifonov, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev and ARMENPRESS News Agency Director Narine Nazaryan.
