Guy Parmelin, head of Switzerland’s Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, visited the Institute for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Technology (INSAIT) on Wednesday, saying its achievements surpassed his already high expectations. The institute’s work is exceptional, Parmelin added.
According to him, it is very important for the state to support the development of the Institute, thus ensuring that it remains at the forefront of technological development. He noted that “if the Bulgarian and Swiss governments had had to guess how the technological world would have developed, they would have omitted a lot about its future, but thanks to this cooperation, there are currently high-tech innovations.”
Parmelin pointed out that “we cannot discover everything on our own, it is important to have connections and cooperation, to move forward in the common interest of the citizens of Bulgaria and Switzerland.”
Parmelin added that the relations between Bulgaria and Switzerland are really strong.
Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov welcomed Guy Parmelin at the Council of Ministers. Parmelin is visiting Sofia at the invitation of Prime Minister Zhelyazkov on the occasion of the celebration of the fourth anniversary of the establishment of INSAIT.
