Speaking to reporters in Parliament on Friday, Labour and Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov said that electronic cigarettes (vapes) must be banned in Bulgaria. "What else needs to happen for us to realize that this is dangerous and cannot go on like this. Not only vapes but also narcotics. They are a scourge, and the sooner Parliament bans them the better," he said. Gutsanov’s comments were made in response to GERB-UDF’s plans to submit bills that would implement a complete ban on vapes and prohibit the sale of energy drinks to individuals under 18.

Gutsanov also agreed with the need for stricter regulations of energy drinks.
