If it comes to the formation of a regular government, the prime minister must be from GERB, GERB-UDF MP Denitsa Sacheva told Bulgarian National TV, commenting Democrats for Strong Bulgaria's proposal to nominate Atanas Atanasov for Parliament chair.

"What is being sought is not a chair of the National Assembly or a caretaker prime minister, what is being sought is a majority for [the formation of] a regular government. And that is what we proposed - our proposal was to sit at the negotiating table for a governing majority with Gen. Atanas Atanasov as chair of the National Assembly and [GERB leader] Boyko Borissov as prime minister. Apparently, it takes time for the colleagues from Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria to realize that they cannot do anything without a functioning National Assembly, and there can be no functioning National Assembly if there is no majority for [forming a regular] government," Denitsa Sacheva said.

She said that GERB wants to talk about a government and a majority for governance.

"As the first political force we have our reasons and commitment to the voters to propose a prime minister, which from our point of view is Boyko Borissov. When we sit at the negotiating table and see the proposals of the other side, as they say in the European institutions - nothing is agreed until it is agreed," Sacheva added.

The MP said that GERB - UDF will sit at the negotiating table only if there is a clear request for a governing majority "and at this stage we do not retreat from what we have proposed at the beginning".
