Mila Georgieva, Deputy Chair of the Bulgarian Music Association (BMA), has been elected Chair of the Board of the European Music Council (EMC), the BMA announced. According to the Association, this marks a significant achievement both for Georgieva and for Bulgaria, as it is the first time a Bulgarian representative has assumed a leadership position in Europe’s largest music platform.
Mila Georgieva is recognized as one of Bulgaria’s most active young professionals in the field of cultural management. Since 2015, she has been a member of BMA’s board, and since 2021, has served as its Deputy Chair, playing a key role in expanding its international partnerships.
Over the past decade, she has led numerous international projects in the fields of music, culture, and education, including the SoAlive Music Conference, MOST – The Bridge for Balkan Music, and the European Jazz Conference 2023 held in Sofia. In 2023, she became a member of the EMC board, and in 2024, she initiated and organized the European Music Forum in Sofia.
The European Music Council brings together more than 70 music organizations from across the continent.
