More than 50% of Bulgarians (56%), prefer a government be formed in the 51st National Assembly, even with compromises, according to a nationally representative survey by Gallup International for the Referendum programme on Bulgarian National Television.

Slightly over a fifth (22%) of participants want new parliamentary elections. Another 22% cannot decide, the survey shows.

The survey was conducted between October 31 and November 8, 2024, among 806. The sample is representative of the adult population of the country.

Sociologists explained that, based on the results, attitudes are diverse among the electorates of the parliamentary represented political forces, but the desire to form a cabinet seems to prevail.

This is especially true for the supporters of GERB-UDF (82%), Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (69%), but also among MRF-New Beginning (58%) and Alliance for Rights and Freedoms (55%), according to the survey data.

Less adamant, but still  in favour of forming a government were the electorates of There Is Such a People (50%), MECh (47%) and BSP - United Left (42%).

Only the Vazrazhdane electorate was in favor of new elections (51%), but 35% of the party's supporters were also in favour of forming a cabinet, Gallup International added.
