Speaking to the press in Parliament on Friday after the new legislature failed for a third time to elect its leader, MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski said that if Parliament can't elect a chair, it can't elect a government either. He blamed the situation on President Rumen Radev and on Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria.

"Rumen Radev, with his raised fist, brought Bulgaria here and brought this 'change' which is a total sham and resulted in three years of plundering the State, draining the ministries, draining the Customs, theft and contraband trade," said Peevski. That has been his usual rhetoric, but has intensified as of late.

Peevski called the MPs' failure to elect a Parliament chair "a shameful picture".

"We need to sober up and get to work. If we can't start work, then we should have new elections. We need somebody to win a clear election victory because nobody did in the recent elections. I hope there will be clear victory so that somebody can run the country," he said adding that this country "needs a new beginning".
