site.btaEconomy Minister: Bulgaria Has Already Declared Readiness to Participate in Ukraine's Reconstruction

Bulgaria has already declared its readiness to participate in the reconstruction process in Ukraine by providing economic, infrastructure and humanitarian support, caretaker Minister of Economy and Industry Petko Nikolov said during a forum on Ukraine's economic stability, defence and reconstruction here on Wednesday.

The event was organized by the Economy Ministry and the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria and was also attended by Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, European Commission Representation in Bulgaria Head Yordanka Chobanova, former President (2012-2017) Rosen Plevneliev, representatives of the diplomatic corps in Bulgaria and the business circles, the Ministry said.

Nikolov pointed out that the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine will be not only a large-scale but also a complex undertaking that will require coordination and support from the entire international community. "Our goal is to be part of this effort," he said, adding that "the challenges we face require a sustainable and integrated economic approach not only regionally, but also globally."

The Economy Minister focused on three main topics - economic stability in the region, the modernization of Bulgarian defence capabilities and the reconstruction of Ukraine.
