It seems a bit strange that given the fact that 600,000 more citizens participated in the electoral process, there are doubts about its legitimacy, about a bought vote and manipulation, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said at the beginning of Wednesday's regular cabinet meeting.

"Amid all this talk of how we all aspired to such a turnout so that there could be greater representation, all this talk is ruining that representation. I cannot understand them," he added.

The October 27 snap parliamentary elections were the most closely monitored in history, Glavchev said. The only involvement of the caretaker Government was to provide video surveillance, "thanks to which we have witnessed things that are worrying," he noted and congratulated the media and the public for shining a light on troubling facts from the elections. "They will be clarified," the caretaker Prime Minister stressed.

He recalled that the sectional committees were made up of representatives of the political parties and that a wrongdoing can occur without getting reported only if there was a complete consensus between them. "But let the competent authorities do their job. We maintain the call for a regular government, as this is the most direct way to be guided by the interests of the people," Glavchev said.
