Yellow alert for snow in 13 of Bulgaria’s 28 administrative regions has been issued for Tuesday, November 12, by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH). Yellow is the lowest of three alert levels. The snow is expected to form a cover of up to 10 cm, and there will be ice on road surfaces, the NIMH says on its website.
The alert applies to the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Sofia Region, Sofia City, Pernik, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Targovishte, Sliven, Stara Zagora and Plovdiv.
Drivers are asked to take the normal precautions for winter conditions, the Road Infrastructure Agency said. The agency’s regional departments are ready to take steps to ensure that road surfaces are processed.
