site.bta51st National Assembly's Inaugural Sitting Opens, MPs Sworn In
The oldest MP present, There Is Such a People's Silvi Kirilov, opened the inaugural sitting of the 51st National Assembly on Monday.
A total of 234 MPs are in attendance. The newly elected MPs were sworn in, and the anthems of Bulgaria and the European Union were played in the hall.
The sitting is also attended by President Rumen Radev, Vice President Iliana Iotova, caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Patriarch Daniil, caretaker cabinet members, representatives of the judiciary, diplomats, etc.
According to the Constitution, at the first session of the newly elected Parliament, the MPs must elect National Assembly chair and deputy chairs.
