In a position released by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms' (MRF) press centre on Thursday, Dzhevdet Chakarov, MRF Chair and Alliance for Rights and Freedoms' (ARF) top-of-the-list candidate in Silistra and Burgas, said that President Rumen Radev’s statement made earlier in the day "holds considerable importance for our society, as it addresses very important issues concerning the fundamental principles of democracy". Chakarov referred to Radev's statement that the announcement of the October 27 election results had stirred tension and raised concerns about the fairness of the vote.

"I support the President's call for full commitment and responsibility in addressing alerts related to vote buying and manipulation, which should not be ignored but thoroughly investigated," Chakarov said.

"We expect the caretaker government, especially the Interior Ministry, along with all institutions responsible for the security of the electoral process to display a firm commitment in this regard," the statement reads.

"The path to fair elections and accurate evaluation of the results undoubtedly requires exposing the forces and individuals imposing undemocratic practices to control and manipulate the free will of the voters," Chakarov said. He added that Radev's call is not only justified but also echoes the public's profound desire for integrity and accountability on the part of the institutions.

Following the elections, ARF called for a constructive dialogue among political parties in the 51st National Assembly to form a stable government, rejecting the "Peevski model".
