Council of Ministers Approves Bulgaria's Position for ECOFIN Council Meeting

The Government approved Bulgaria's position for the meeting of the Council of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN), which will be held on November 8, 2024 in Brussels.

Finance ministers will revisit the VAT in the Digital Age legislative package with the aim of reaching a political agreement.

During the meeting, Council members will discuss the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility and approve amendments to the Recovery and Resilience Plans of Czechia and the Netherlands. The ministers are expected to hold a discussion on the economic and financial consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine.

A European Fiscal Board report will be presented at the meeting. The Council will approve conclusions on EU statistics.

The Bulgarian caretaker Cabinet approved the report which includes the results of the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova in the ECOFIN regular meeting held on October 8, 2024.
