Bulgaria’s energy sector needs a Centre for Energy Development and New Sciences, said caretaker Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov here on Thursday during a meeting for signing a memorandum for the construction of the centre.

According to the Minister, this is an initiative that the Bulgarian energy sector needs and at the same time it will give young people the opportunity to live and develop here.

"You will really become aware with time that getting a good education and having security in terms of your future, both financially and personally, so that you can fulfil yourself and be satisfied with what you are going to achieve, is precisely this project. And I hope that we will be able to implement it. The Bulgarian energy sector will support it because we need it and this region will continue to be at the heart of Bulgarian energy," Vladimir Malinov said.

During the meeting, it transpired that 10, 000 people will be needed for the construction of the next two units of Kozloduy NPP and another 1,000 specialists for their operation.

Attending were the Executive Directors of the Bulgarian Energy Holding Vladimir Nikolov and Galina Todorova, and Plamen Vassilev - a representative of Kozloduy N-plant.
