In September, 976 people were arrested for crimes related to drug production, processing, possession and distribution. Also, 666 illegal migrants were detained in the country's interior. The data were released by the Specialized Interagency Unit of the Prosecution Office and the Interior Ministry, set up to aid investigations into illegal migration and drug trafficking.

There were 505 pre-trial proceedings for drug-related crimes and 543 specialized operations in September. Twenty-one laboratories and plots for drug production and cultivation were discovered.

The authorities conducted 458 operations for combating illegal migration and instituted 182 pre-trial proceedings for illegal people trafficking and illegal migration.

In August, 980 people were arrested for drug-related crimes in 499 specialized operations and 869 illegal migrants were detained.
