The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Friday its deepest condolences to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the tragic loss of life due to the floods in its central and southern regions.

"Our thoughts are with the families and communities affected by this devastating event", the Ministry said on X.

A heavy rainstorm swept through Bosnia and Herzegovina during the night between Thursday and Friday, killing at least 14 people and flooding towns and villages in the central and southern parts of the country. Rescue services in the southern part of the country also reported several missing persons and called for volunteers and the army to help, as roads were closed and houses were left without electricity.
