Parliament Wednesday adopted at second reading amendments to the Agricultural Producers Support Act, which improve the financial management of the sector. The amendments allow the State Fund Agriculture to retain up to 25% of the funds received as a result of reductions and exclusions, which will be allocated to state aid.
The bill was submitted by Ivan Ivanov from Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria, Atidzhe Alieva-Veli from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Desislava Taneva and Maria Belova from GERB-UDF.
The adopted amendments create a legal basis for Bulgaria to take advantage of the opportunity envisaged in a European regulation related to the monitoring of the common agricultural policy.
The amendments also foresee that the individual administrative acts refusing the full or partial payment of grants for the interventions included in the Strategic Plan or the State Fund Agriculture should be issued by December 31 of the following year of submission of aid applications.
