Caretaker Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev has invited Japanese leading media Fuji Television and TV Kanagawa to make films about Bulgaria which will tell the Japanese audience about this country’s attractive tourist sites, rich cultural and historical heritage, the Ministry's press office said on Wednesday.

Miloshev is paying an official visit to Japan to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of tourism between Bulgaria’s Tourism Ministry and the Japan Tourism Agency. On September 18, the Bulgarian Cabinet approved the draft Memorandum.

The meetings also discussed the opportunities for exchange programmes with Bulgarian TV channels and Bulgaria’s promotion as a tourist destination for Japanese tourists. The Japanese side expressed strong interest, as specific projects were discussed to present Bulgarian spa, cultural, culinary and wine tourism, as well as to promote this country’s tourist packages.

The Japanese Kanagawa TV is a partner of the Yokohama Rose Garden, where the Bulgarian Rose Festival is annually organized on the initiative of the Bulgarian Embassy.

In 2024, Fuji TV together with the Bulgarian Embassy filmed episodes presenting Bulgarian culture and cuisine, which were broadcast on Japanese television, the Ministry said.
