site.btaRate Schedule of Payments for Public Media Campaign Broadcasts for Oct. 27 Elections Approved

The government Wednesday approved the rate schedule according to which parties, coalitions and nomination committees will pay for campaign broadcasts of the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) and the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) and their regional centres in the run-up to the October 27 parliamentary elections.

The rate schedule is based on proposals by the BNR and BNT managements. The parameters and prices are identical to those set for the June 9 national and European Parliament elections.

The programmes of the two public media cover the election campaign through videos, debates and other forms agreed with representatives of the electoral participants in accordance with the terms and conditions laid down in the Election Code.

The deadline for the adoption of the rate schedule is no later than 40 days before Election Day. Its timely adoption is crucial for the smooth running of the election campaign and its coverage in the programmes of the public electronic media.
