In a declaration of its priorities during the new session of the 50th National Assembly, GERB-UDF’s parliamentary group said its main objective will be to contribute as much as possible to reducing electoral tensions and preventing the possibility of passing adventurous bills aimed solely at spreading electoral populism. The declaration was read out by GERB-UDF deputy floor leader Temenuzhka Petkovа during the opening sitting of Parliament on Wednesday.

GERB-UDF urged the rest of the political forces not to turn their internal party problems into problems of the Bulgarian society. Involving state institutions in resolving intraparty disputes is not only harmful but also pointless, the declaration further reads.

According to GERB-UDF, the record low voter turnout at the last parliamentary elections was not taken into account by all political parties as a clear sign of the citizens' distrust of the political system.
