The autumn break for Bulgarian schools will be from October 31 to November 3 and spring break will be from March 29 to April 9 (April 4-6 for 12th graders). The school breaks are set in a schedule announced Friday by the Education and Science Ministry following a public consultation.

The Ministry received positions from 90 individuals, one employer organizations, two trade unions and the teaching staff of four schools.

During the public consultations, the opinions prevailed against a merger of spring with Easter break. Christmas break will start December 21 and will last until January 2, the term break will move to February 5, and the autumn break will be extended.

To enable this extension of school breaks, the days when schools hold exams for 7th-graders will be held on regular school days. Until this year, these days were off-school for all other students.

The exams in Bulgarian language and literature, and math will be on June 3 and 4 June for 4th grade; June 18 and 20 for 7th grade; June 13 and 16 for 10th grade.

As a result of opinions received during the public consultation, the second term for grades 1 through 3 will end on June 2, 2025, for 12th grade on May 15 and for grades 4 through 6 on June 16. All other grades will finish the school year at the end of June.
