1877: The three-day Battle of Shipka begins, to become one of the major highlights of the 1877-1878 Russo-Turkish War in which Bulgaria is liberated from nearly five centuries of Ottoman rule.
1924: The First International Cycling Tour of Bulgaria starts.
1991: The Grand National Assembly passes the Supreme Judicial Council Act.
2007: The 112 single emergency call system is introduced.
