Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev congratulated the Bulgarian athletes who won medals in the 2024 Paris Olympics. "Congratulations to all of our athletes for their worthy performance. Bulgaria is proud with the seven medals won," he said in a post on the Council of Ministers' official Facebook page.
The Prime Minister expressed special thanks to the Bulgarian Olympic Committee for the exceptionally good organization during the entire Olympics in Paris.
"I became assured that the Bulgarian athletes were provided with the best conditions for training. Your efforts were generously rewarded with excellent results and unforgettable moments," Glavchev said.
He wished the athletes future successes and to continue elevating Bulgarian sports on the world stage.
Glavchev visited France on 9 and 10 August and the Bulgarian athletes in the Olympic Village, where he wished them success in their performance. He attended competitions in which Bulgarian athletes participated. Glavchev's visit was at the invitation of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.
Bulgaria finished 26th in the medal standings at the Paris Olympics. Bulgarian athletes marked their best performance at an Olympics since the turn of the century by winning three gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
