A large Japanese business delegation is expected to visit Bulgaria in October, the Council of Ministers announced Thursday.

“Japan is our priority partner and traditional friend. We are keen to elevate our relations to the level of a strategic partnership,” said caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev during his meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Bulgaria Hisashi Michigami, the government press service informed on the Council of Ministers' Facebook page.

The two officials discussed the opportunities for expanding economic relations between Bulgaria and Japan. To this end, a large Japanese business delegation is expected to visit Bulgaria in October, and Bulgaria will participate in the World Expo to be held in Osaka in 2025.

"This is a great opportunity to present our country to a huge audience," Prime Minister Glavchev said.
