On Wednesday, There Is Such a People (TISP) will continue holding talks in a bid to enlist support for the formation of a cabinet on the third and last exploratory mandate, which TISP was handed by President Rumen Radev on Monday.
A meeting scheduled for Tuesday with independent MPs from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) was postponed to Wednesday. Talks will be held with those MPs of the MRF who have either been expelled or have left the parliamentary group as they oppose MRF co-leader Delyan Peevski and are loyal to MRF Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan. On Monday, they confirmed their readiness for talks.
The MRF parliamentary group under the leadership of Delyan Peevski declared that they would not go to talks with TISP. Peevski defined the requests for a government with the third mandate as populism and a hidden election campaign and demanded that TISP return the mandate.
On Tuesday, TISP met with the representatives of the collapsed Velichie parliamentary group. First was their meeting with Krasimira Katincharova with whom no agreement was reached on support for a third-term government. Katincharova was the only representative of the six MPs who left the Velichie parliamentary group, after which the group ceased to exist. A meeting with the other six independent MPs from Velichie followed, after which Toshko Yordanov summarized that the support for a third-term government had grown to 22 people.
