site.btaTISP: Parliament's Presiding Body Discussed Taking Summer Break, Only TISP and BSP Want MPs to Continue Working in August
There Is Such a People floor leader Toshko Yordanov told the press Thursday that Parliament's presiding body mulled taking a summer break and only his party and BSP for Bulgaria insisted that the MPs should continue working through August. "There are so many pressing bills and problems and yet four parliamentary groups want summer recess," said Yordanov.
He also said, "There are most pressing bills and issue that this Parliament needs to address. There are problems with Unit 6 of the Kozloduy N-plant, which is a major challenge. And a pile of other bills that can be adopted - or not - by this Parliament, but they need to be addressed as a matter of urgency. One group wants us to go in recess from August 2 and another from August 9. What we and BSP proposed is to continue working throughout August because them September comes and if the third [government-formation] mandate doesn't work out and we have to go to elections, they will ask to take September off to campaign even though we have to continue working even then under the Constitution."
It also transpired from his work that 60 bills have been submitted.
