The National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) warned of fake e-mails sent on behalf of the institution. A letter sent by the NHIF press office said that such type of pirated messages require a certain confirmation action from the user, which triggers a cyber attack on their device.

The NHIF recalls that they do not send by e-mail to citizens or contractual partners files concerning their health insurance status, information on amounts due and other personal information. In these cases, it's spam emails, sometimes with malware attached.

Citizens can report such e-mails to the NHIF, as well as alert the competent authorities for the investigation of cybercrimes.
