The Bulgarian capital Sofia will host the 61st Session of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change between July 27 and August 2. About 500 delegates from 150 countries will take part in what will be the most important climate science event in Bulgaria, the Ministry of Environment and Water said on Saturday.

Between July 27 and 29, a light show called Horizon will illuminate the National Palace of Culture (NDK) from 10 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The theme of the show is climate change. It will highlight the intrinsic connection between man and nature and the responsibility we have for the future of humanity and our shared home.

The Horizon show combines 3D mapping technology and dynamic images. It will transfigure the NDK building with messages about climate change, the important role of science in finding solutions and the personal responsibility of every individual.

The Horizon show was created in partnership with Impact Nest, organizers of an impressive multimedia spectacle in Dubai during COP28 last December, said the Ministry of Environment and Water. The authors of the work are MP-Studio, the creators of the Lunar Festival of Lights.

On the opening night, July 27, two hundred drones will light up the sky above Sofia with a 10-minute display of light forms and messages about the importance of climate action.
