Stanislav Balabanov, Deputy Floor Leader of There Is Such a People (TISP), Thursday reiterated that his parliamentary group is ready to accept the third cabinet-forming mandate if offered by the President. He told reporters that in that case Wednesday's talks with Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) would be a good basis for discussing a governance programme with a clear time frame.

On Wednesday, CC-DB representatives discussed their proposal for a declaration on the way out of the political crisis in Bulgaria with the other parliamentary groups, excluding the Movement for Rights and Freedoms. The negotiating team included representatives of Democratic Bulgaria.

Balabanov commented that Democratic Bulgaria came off as the more reasonable part of the CC-DB coalition - they clearly understood which aspects of the declaration relating to the Constitution are problematic for TISP and accepted that this could be a basis for normal talks.

TISP leader Slavi Trifonov said on Facebook it would make the most sense if President Rumen Radev handed the third mandate to TISP which is "the only group in this Parliament that can talk with all the other groups". He added: "This will be the last chance to seek common sense in this Parliament."

Trifonov also said he was pleasantly surprised by the conduct of the DB representatives, which he claimed was very different right now from the conduct of Continue the Change and its leaders.
