On Facebook, GERB leader Boyko Borissov condemned the attempt on the life of former US president Donald Trump and wished him speedy recovery. "Violence has no place in a civilized and democratic world," Borissov noted. "We should be aware that hate speech only divides our societies," he added.
Former US president Donald Trump, the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party for the upcoming presidential election in the US, was shot in the right ear during a rally in Pennsylvania Saturday evening, Reuters reported, quoting a statement of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
"In Bulgaria, the hate speech between politicians is becoming more and more acute and visible. The division between people is dangerous and I have long warned that this will not lead to anything good. That is why we reiterate that we count on political maturity in the upcoming election campaign without hate speech," Borissov’s statement further reads.
