site.btaCaretaker Interior Minister Meets with European Commission's Schengen Coordinator

Caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov met with Deputy Director-General in charge of Schengen & Internal Security, and Schengen Coordinator Olivier Onidi, Stoyanov said on Facebook on Wednesday.

The two discussed the current migration situation and Bulgaria's preparations for the implementation of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, Stoyanov wrote. Onidi is on a working visit to Bulgaria. 

The full accession of Bulgaria and Romania to the Schengen area and the lifting of border controls were said to be among the priorities of the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. On July 1, Hungary's Ambassador to Bulgaria, Miklos Boros, presented the Presidency's priorities in the coming six months at an event at the House of Europe in Sofia.
