site.btaBulgaria Will Not Give Cash to Ukraine, GERB Leader Borissov Says

Speaking to reporters in the corridors of Parliament on Friday, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said that a 'new attempt had been made to insinuate that Bulgaria would give cash to Ukraine'. In his words, at the closed-door meeting of Parliament on Thursday regarding the upcoming NATO summit in Washington, it was made clear that there was no question of giving money to Ukraine at all.

"That's what these summits are for, we are partners and member states have different views. We have always firmly supported peace," Borissov noted.

Borissov said he was outraged by yet another 'very manipulative' attempt to scare Bulgarians into believing that Bulgarian troops would be sent to Ukraine. "I have always said that Bulgarian soldiers will only defend the territory of our country and no soldiers will go to Ukraine – we guarantee this," the leader of GERB stressed.
