Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk congratulated Raya Nazaryan on her election as Chair of the 50th National Assembly and expressed hope that the excellent cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries will continue to develop and deepen. Stefanchuk is the first chair of another country's parliament to personally congratulate Nazaryan, Parliament's press office said on Friday.

In a videoconference, Stefanchuk noted the gratitude of the Ukrainian people for Bulgaria's unwavering support not only for Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, but also for the country's integration into the EU.

“We support Ukraine in its just cause to defend its right to choose its own security guarantees and development path,” Raya Nazaryan stressed. She pointed out that Bulgaria is among the strongest and most active supporters of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. Nazaryan expressed the readiness of the Bulgarian parliamentarians to share their experience of the European integration process and congratulated Ukraine for the significant progress in implementing key reforms, especially against the backdrop of Russia's ongoing full-scale military aggression.
