The largest for the year national exercise with international participation of the Special Forces of the Bulgarian Army "Stealth Dagger 24" has started, the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) announced. The two-stage tactical-special exercise will be conducted in different areas throughout the country over several weeks.
During the exercise, the combat capabilities of two JCSO special operations tactical groups will be assessed simultaneously for the first time against the standards of the NATO Allied Command Operations (SOFEVAL). The formations will be certified for duty within the new NATO force model.
The purpose of the Stealth Dagger 24 exercise is to test the capabilities of participating JCSO staffs and formations in planning and conducting special operations to engage targets and objects of operational and strategic importance and to counter asymmetric threats to Alliance standards. During the exercise, tasks will be practiced in coordination and interaction with conventional forces components.
On June 27, a demonstration will be held at the Tsrancha training centre.
The demonstrations in 2023 included formations, forces and equipment from the Joint Special Operations Command, aircraft, and Bulgarian Air Force crews and mechanics as well as formations and staff personnel from U.S. Special Forces and Romanian Special Forces.
